Homotoxicology – The origin & philosophy
As early as the 1930’s, Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg had identified the relationships between toxic burdens and disease. He coined the term « homotoxins » for agents which exert negative effects on the human organism. On the basis of insights gained into these phenomena, Reckeweg formulated the concept of disease known as homotoxicology, and developed a comprehensive stock of antihomotoxic remedies. These preparations not only act against symptoms, but also stimulate the detoxifying functions of the lymphatic system and the connective tissues. In effect, they activate the body’s intrinsic healing capabilities. A great number and variety of health problems/affections respond well to antihomotoxic therapy.

According to Dr. Reckeweg, illness is the expression of biologically effectual defense against exogenous and endogenous homotoxins – or, it represents the attempt to compensate for toxin damage.
